After quite a mild winter at the East Beach, spring has truly sprung at Margot, the beach hut makery. Over the Easter holidays, we were able to fling open the bright yellow doors and sit in the sun while sewing, knitting, crocheting and drawing on paper (and fabric!) as well as the prerequisite chatting and tea drinking! From the comfort of our chair we loved watching the flow of beach visitors, from dog walkers and families with small children to seagulls and surfers.
Being so near the beach is always special, but on warm, balmy days it takes on an almost mediterranean feel with sea and sky both painted in that clear, bright blue, highlighted by the small wooden boats bobbing around near the shore. Cool breezes remind us that it is still early in the season as we reach for our cardigans, jumpers and shawls, but it is the first sign of the long, hot days to come (we hope !)
All this spring weather has brought a flurry of new making energy to us all too, as we prepare for the new season, here are a few pictures of lovely new work on display at Margot at the moment (each maker is captioned).
We will be starting a new series on the blog very soon where you can find out more about all of us in turn, exploring our passions, (… easy tiger!) inspirations and process so don’t be a stranger.
