Featured Makers

November

Again its hard to accept that we are coming to the end of another year at Margot, the weather on the south coast has been so mild  during October with hardly any rain and quite a lot of sunshine, but as we move into November we are feeling the season shift into its winter plumage with colder, misty mornings and  icy, dark evenings.  We are no longer resisting that urge to snuggle down under soft throws, quilts and blankets and light a host of tea light lanterns ….   at Margot, we are fully embracing those “hygge” moments.

Of course the change of month also means we get to welcome a new featured maker and  with the above in mind, its my great pleasure to introduce you to Donna from…

Queenie’s Quilts.

Donna is an all rounder in the handmade world, with talents in crochet, up cycled furniture, decoupage and sewing, she is driven by a desire to create beautiful things from  humble, unwanted  or unloved materials and her passion for recycling.

At Margot we are lucky enough to be showing a selection of  her delightful patchwork quilts, Christmas Stockings and lovely festive tea light lanterns.

Each quilt is hand made by Donna in Worthing using a selection of vintage and vintage inspired fabrics in a rainbow of glorious colours, they are all unique and one off pieces  which she then finishes with decorative pom pom or tassled edgings which give each piece a quirky, bohemian feel perfect in the modern vintage style home.  To personalise the quilts Donna can also scan a photo, image or piece of artwork  of your choice and then print this onto a fabric  panel to incorporate  into the overall design.

We have a range of sizes available from cot quilts through to double bed size but Donna is also able to custom make any size to your requirements ( see the link below for her contact details.)

Margot  loves her handmade christmas stockings ,  generous enough to fill with  loads of Christmas treats and  handmade in gorgeous vintage fabrics and trimmed with sumptuous edgings, they make a really lovely heirloom gift that can be used year after year.

Donnas festive tea light holders are made of glass and decorated with vintage decoupaged images and again they are finished in Donnas trade mark eclectic style, they make perfect little stocking fillers or gifts for colleagues or teachers.
